AVP, Trust Officer (Remote)

Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000
Additional Compensation: Annual Discretionary Incentive

Job Summary
The AVP, Trust Officer serves as the senior client relationship manager for the daily administration and account maintenance of fiduciary accounts. The role is primarily responsible for complex estate and trust settlement accounts and administrative matters, as well as business development efforts for Colorado and the Western market.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Collects and prepares all necessary paperwork for client transactions.
Prepares the opening and closing of accounts for review by the Fiduciary Officer.
Participates in the preparation of client presentation and meeting materials, as needed.
Monitors bill pay submitted by clients or beneficiaries.
Responds to account inquiries from clients.
Prepares annual administrative account reviews for review and approval and works with Fiduciary Officer to resolve exceptions by deadlines.
Assists in maintaining current book of business by providing excellent and professional client service.
Provides administrative direction and answers questions regarding trust document interpretation and administrative risk management.
Reviews documents and works with team members to ensure proper documentation for all discretionary requests from clients.
Works directly with clients as well as external resources (i.e., accountants, attorneys, etc.) regarding trust administrative and estate settlement matters.
Assists in the implementation of procedures, controls and guidelines designed to meet policy requirements, while creating processes and strategies to enhance the overall effectiveness of fiduciary services and the client experience.
Identifies prospects and initiates contact with appropriate parties via phone, email, or other electronic means.
Participates in local business development and marketing opportunities.
Assists in the coordination of and, where appropriate, conducts webinars and other training activities.
Completes Special projects and other related duties in keeping with the trust company’s fiduciary responsibilities.
Required Skills/Abilities
Bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish.
Strong knowledge of trust, administrative, operational and risk mitigation standards, including the ability to effectively communicate related policies and procedures.
Strong understanding of trust documents and related fiduciary terms.
Ability to articulate the benefits and needs of various types of Trusts to clients.
Ability to effectively interpret and communicate administrative actions to clients.
Ability to effectively work with clients and fiduciary administrators in a team environment.
Proficiency in technology, including the ability to effectively use a variety of software programs and operating systems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to multitask and re-prioritize.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Certification from ABA or other trade group in trust administration and operations (i.e. CTFA, CFP) preferred.
Minimum three years of experience required in one or a combination of the following: relationship management, financial, trust, or legal industry.
Experience with Salesforce, Laserfiche, and FIS TrustDesk preferred.
Financial institution experience required.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
Ability to effectively operate a computer and other office equipment.
Occasional travel required for meetings, conferences, etc. as requested.
